Lasagne Sheets
400 gm maida
3 Eggs
3 tbsp olive oil
Salt to taste
Method:
Mix the above ingredients in a bowl and make it into a dough( neither too soft nor too hard). Now dust it with flour and roll it.
Cut in rectangle or square.don't roll very thin otherwise it will break while boiling.
boil water in a pan. boil these strips for 7 to 8 minutes. Drain water and pour these strips in cold water and drain. Make sure they don't fold during these steps. Sheets are ready.
Red sauce
Ingredients for red sauce:
4 medium sized tomatoes
1 onion
7-8 garlic cloves
1/4 cup chopped basil leaves.
1 tsp olive oil.
Salt to taste
Method:
Make a puree out of all the above ingredients.
Heat olive oil in a pan and add the chopped basil leaves, sauté it and then add the puree. Bring it to boil and the sauce is ready.
White Sauce
1 cup all purpose flour
2 tsp butter
2 cup milk (normal temperature)
1 tsp oregano powder
Salt to taste
Method:
Heat the butter in a pan and add the flour, sauté it till its a little roasted and then slowly start adding milk, while continuously stirring so that there shouldn't be any lumps. Once it gets thick add salt and oregano. Turn off the flame and the sauce is ready.
Vegetables
1/2 cup broccoli
1/2 cup carrorts
1 onion
1/4 cup capsicum
1/4 cup baby corn
All these vegetables need to chopped into small pieces.
1 tsp olive oil.
1 tsp salt.
1/2 tsp pepper.
Heat oil in a pan add all the vegetables. Add salt and pepper and sauté it for 5 mins. Don't overcook the vegetables, they shouldn't loose the crunch.
Ingredient
2 cups grated mozzarella cheese.
Now start layering
First layer of pasta sheet then red sauce then vegetables then white sauce and mozzarella cheese on it. Again pasta then red sauce then vegetables then white sauce and cheese on it. You can ideally do 4-5 layers. Top should be the sheet and put lots of cheese on it.
Now bake in a preheated oven for for 15 to 20 minutes at 200 till the cheese melts and the top becomes golden brown. The Lasagne is ready. Garnish with fresh basil leaves.
Guys these steps are detailed, they might look lengthy to you, but do try it. Its not tough to make and you will love the result. It was my first time attempt and it took me some 45 minutes.
