Caramelised Fruit Tart



Ingredients:
 
Tart
3/4 cup whole wheat flour/atta
½ cup all purpose flour/maida
¼ cup olive oil
⅓ cup water at room temperature
½ tsp salt or as required

Caramelised Fruits
Chopped strawberries-1/2 cup
Chopped Apple-1/2 cup
Chopped Mango-1/2 cup
Grapes( halved)-1/2 cup
Sugar- 2tbsp
Lemon Juice- ½ tsp
Lemon Zest- ½ tsp
Olive Oil- 2tsp
Cinnamon Powder-1tsp

Tart:


Sieve or mix all the dry ingredients together - whole wheat flour, all purpose flour and salt.

Add the olive oil and with your fingers mix the oil in the flour evenly to get a breadcrumb consistency. It gives a flaky texture to the crust. the whole mixture should look like breadcrumbs.

Add water and just bind the whole mixture together. form a dough but don't knead. 



Cover it with a cling film and keep in the fridge for about 30minutes.

Divide the dough into 8 or more equal portions and roll each portion into a 100 mm. (4”) round using a little plain flour.

Press each round into a greased tart mould.

Prick with a fork at even distance.

Place them on a baking tray and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180°f (360°f) for 15 minutes or until the tarts are golden in colour.



Remove, unmould and cool. 

Tart is ready.


Caramelising Fruits:


In a non-stick pan, add Olive oil and put all the fruits, then add sugar and lemon juice. Cook this until the water evapouates. Let it cool down.

Fruits are now Caramelised.


Serving:

Fill each tart with a portion of the caramelised fruits just before serving.


Notes:

These Tarts can be made with any choice of fruits. Custard, ice cream or whipped cream can also be used along with fruits.
